As the largest electrical contracting firm in western Massachusetts, we have the ability to perform all types of electrical construction work. Our crews specialize in 13.8 KV (medium voltage), lighting, power distribution, alarm systems and telephone/data wiring, solar and many other capabilities.
Our 16,000 square foot warehouse houses both the tools and materials for our projects. With 28’ ceilings and a 5-ton overhead crane, we can receive and store almost any electrical item in our warehouse until the jobsite is ready for delivery. We maintain stock of all critical electrical items so that they can be delivered just in time for installation.
Our well-trained foremen, journeymen and apprentice electricians work with the best quality tools from our tool warehouse to productively install the electrical components of our projects.
We use our corner mount digger vehicle for setting utility poles, site lighting poles, and equipment as well as long cable pulls. Additionally, we have two bucket trucks which can be used for pole line work and parking lot lighting.

Design/Build
Collins Electric provides full CAD (computer aided design) and BIM (building information modeling) for our design/build work. With in-house CAD operations, we can create new drawings or revise existing drawings, as needed. This collaborative approach saves time and money and allows for flexible changes throughout the process. We are also exceptionally skilled at value engineering.

Problem solved
Each of our service vehicles is fully stocked with the materials and tools to solve normal troubleshooting for most service calls or repairs without the need to order parts and come back again to complete the job. Our electricians will even provide you with their home phone numbers for off-hours availability, should the need arise.

Collins Electric has been on the cutting edge of new technologies since the first commercial fluorescent lighting installation. We have begun extensive work installing solar panels and arrays in western Massachusetts.

What began with a 60kW installation at a supply warehouse in Springfield has evolved into many installations throughout western Massachusetts’ communities including Agawam, Sunderland, Holyoke and Hampden, among others; and for well-known companies like Berkshire South, the West Stockbridge Town Hall, Country Curtains, Hancock Shaker Village in the Berkshires, the MassMutual Life Insurance headquarters in Springfield, Massachusetts.
As the largest employer of electricians in western Massachusetts, we can easily satisfy Massachusetts state law regarding the use of licensed electricians for solar installation, no matter how large or how small.
